We Are Proud Partners In Supporting Hunger Busters’ “Feed the Need” After-School Program

Hunger Busters’ mission is to provide a much-needed third meal of the day to food-insecure children, working to minimize the hardships of hungry children by providing consistent and reliable nourishment. Increasing the nutrition of a food-insecure child improves his or her health, educational performance, and opportunity to grow into a civic-minded adult.

Over 137,000 (87%) of the children attending Dallas public schools rely on school-subsidized breakfast and/or lunch as their only resource for food. All too often, these children go without dinner, with many of them having nothing to eat in the 18 hours between school lunch and their next school breakfast.

Hunger Busters’ “Feed the Need” after school program delivers thousands of evening meals each week to food-insecure children in the DFW area. With the help of committed volunteers, as well as continuing and new partners, Hunger Busters will take a big bite out of Dallas’ childhood hunger epidemic. Thanks to the generosity of donors, we will serve over 366,000 healthy meals to hungry kids in Dallas this year.
